Born in 2002, German freestyle specialist Aaron Wilmes comes to Eindhoven representing SG Frankfurt, following a highly successful career in the US collegiate system. Wilmes established himself as a dominant force in NCAA Division 1 racing for Texas Christian University (TCU), where he earned his spot in the program’s all-time Top 10 across multiple freestyle events (200, 500, 1000, and 1650 Yards). Prior to his time with the Horned Frogs, he became a national champion and record holder in the NAIA with the Keiser University Seahawks.Known for his remarkable endurance and highly economical, powerful stroke style, Wilmes feels right at home in the long-course pool. He covers everything from middle-distance events up to grueling open-water races. Back in elite training under the German sun, he enters the competition in Eindhoven in peak athletic form and remains a thrilling competitor to watch in the freestyle lanes.
